The Gill Trail runs along the South Platte River in Cheesman Canyon and provides angler access to Gold Medal waters. Many years of off-trail travel have left a significant number of social trails along the banks of the river. Outside 285 partners, the U.S. Forest Service, the Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and Denver Water have teamed up to inventory and assess the Gil Trail and associated social trails. The project team will identify potential trail closures and reroutes needed to protect the riparian ecosystem and provide more sustainable access to the river.
